Job Description and Duties
Under the supervision or direction of the Supervisor II, depending upon the classification level appointed, the incumbent performs analytical and technical personnel work supporting the Department's Classification and Pay unit. Responsibilities include classification and pay, recruitment, examinations, personnel selection, employee relations, and related personnel program activities. The complexity, independence, and scope of assigned work are appropriate to the classification level of the position. Special Requirements
Finance currently has a hybrid telework model, which requires employees to work in the office a minimum of four days during the workweek with additional in office days required as needed and sometimes on short notice, for reasons such as hearings, site visits, or required in-person meetings or trainings. Implementation of Executive Order N-22-25 requiring four in-office work days has been postponed until July 1, 2026, but may be subject to change.
In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025. This program reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits for the duration of the program. The salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the reduced amounts.Candidates who are new to California state service will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification. For classifications with alternate ranges, range placement is based on education/experience.
