Financial Aid Director
Position Summary:
The Financial Aid Director is responsible for the overall administration, supervision, and strategic planning of the financial aid programs at California College. This position ensures compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations while providing leadership in delivering exceptional financial aid services to students. The Financial Aid Director will develop policies, procedures, and innovative strategies to enhance student access to financial aid resources and support the college's enrollment goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations, including Title IV, Cal Grant, and institutional aid programs.
- Program Management: Oversee the awarding, disbursement, and reconciliation of financial aid funds, including scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study programs.
- Student Support: Provide guidance and support to students and families in understanding the financial aid process, eligibility requirements, and available funding options.
- Policy Development: Develop, implement, and review financial aid policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Data Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate financial aid records and generate reports for institutional planning, federal and state audits, and accreditation purposes.
- Team Supervision: Recruit, train, and manage financial aid staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaboration & Outreach: Work closely with Admissions, Student Accounts, Academic Advising, and other departments to streamline financial aid services and improve student retention.
- Budget Management: Oversee the financial aid budget, ensuring appropriate allocation of institutional funds and resources.
- Technology & Innovation: Leverage technology to enhance financial aid processing, communication, and student experience.
- Community Engagement: Represent the college in financial aid-related professional organizations, conferences, and outreach initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, Higher Education, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial aid administration, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience with financial aid management systems or similar software.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to student success and access to higher education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a higher education institution.
- Familiarity with California financial aid programs, such as the California Dream Act and Cal Grant.
- Knowledge of institutional aid strategies to support enrollment and retention goals.

Location and Salary:
This position will be located at the California College of ASU Campus in downtown Los Angeles, California. The salary range is $89,000 - $129,100 based on experience and qualifications.
