Coordinator/Associate
Overview
A leading software-focused investment firm is currently looking to appoint a Coordinator/Associate to join its San Francisco, New York City, Miami or Chicago offices.
In partnership with leaders across the firm and our portfolio companies, the firm has embarked on an ambitious campaign to establish the Company’s brand as the top software investor in the U.S. through creative, thoughtful and differentiated marketing and communications programs. This position is an important role on a growing team focused on building the company brand in the global marketplace and supporting value creation within our portfolio.
The Communications & Marketing team oversees all aspects of marketing and brand for the firm, including: media and public relations; social media; content creation and thought leadership; internal communications; digital communications and website maintenance; and brand marketing, among others. Working in partnership with the broader Comms & Marketing team, the Communications Coordinator will support the firm’s overall marketing and communications strategy with a focus on events and sponsorships while serving as a generalist on the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main contact for all conferences and events, both external conferences as well as hosted events. Responsibilities include:
- Researching and maintaining conference lists and calendars in coordination with PR agency
- Vetting speaking opportunities with conference organizers
- Serving as liaison for all conference prep and follow up
- Coordinating all conference sponsorships
- Overseeing many logistical elements for hosted events working in close coordination with external events agency
- Supporting media engagement
- Manage awards submission program in conjunction with external PR agency including reviewing and approving awards submissions
- Support the firm’s broader PR program by maintaining external messaging documents and developing briefing materials for firm spokespeople
- Collaborate across teams, including IR, HR, IT, Compliance and Legal, and firm leaders
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in Communications, Marketing or related field
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- A true self-starter, team player and strong achiever who thrives in a highly collaborative environment
- Innovative and strategic thinker always driving to make things better
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; managing projects with short and changing deadlines
- Highly effective organizational, time management and prioritization skills
- Impeccable attention to detail; takes pride in a quality work product
- Ability to build trust and interact effectively with employees at all levels
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and discretion
- Bachelors’ Degree required
