- Deliver coordinated nursing care for an ICU patient population according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor patient conditions, interpret clinical data, administer medications, and manage lines, drains and devices as appropriate for critical care.
- Document care, responses to treatment, and patient progress; respond quickly to changes in patient status with appropriate escalation.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other disciplines.
- Ensure patient and family education, safety, and infection control practices are maintained; apply critical thinking and professional judgment in day-to-day care. Requirements
- Active RN license in California (or ability to obtain per state requirements)
- ICU or critical care nursing experience preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts
- Able to work effectively in a hospital ICU environment Benefits and Support
