Location: On-Site at CLMI Client Los Angeles World Airports : Los Angeles, CA - (On-Site) - Candidate must be willing and able to commute to the LAWA worksite as required.

Position Description Summary

The Electrical/IT Construction Inspector is responsible for performing inspections of electrical and low-voltage systems within public works rights-of-way, buildings, tenant improvement projects, and civil/electrical construction. This position ensures all work complies with approved plans, specifications, applicable codes, safety regulations, and LAWA requirements.

Essential Job Duties

● Conducts inspections in public works right of ways, buildings, tenant improvement renovations & civil electrical work; shall possess experience & have knowledge of the materials and methods used in the installation of electrical components & local code requirements.

● Shall possess knowledge in low voltage IT systems including interpretation of code requirements.

● Experience desired in inspection of electrical rough and finishes not limited to: underground utilities, high voltage gear & electrical panels, 400 HZ conduit racks, conductors, grounding systems, breakers, interior & exterior lighting, fire life & safety systems, smoke & heat sensors, FM-200 installations, lock out tag out requirements, electrical panel shutdowns, IT door card readers and components, security cameras, communication P.A. systems, etc.

● Possess computer proficiency to review & utilize electronic equipment for contract documents in an efficient manner such as change orders, submittals, RFIs & other inspection documents efficiently with minimal supervision.

● Shall possess the ability to write clear and concise documents depicting daily progress of the work; may be assigned to a program where the inspector prepares monthly progress payment requests, tracks various changes, verifies time and material work, measures, and documents job quantities.

Requirements

Hardware/Software Knowledge

● Basic computer skills and knowledge with Word and Excel spreadsheets, and the ability to utilize email and related functions.

Professional Experience Level/Other Qualifications

● Electrical/IT inspection staff shall have at least 3 years or more of experience performing electrical/IT inspections. For tasks on the Airfield, 3 years or more of experience with airfield lighting is required.

● Electrical/IT inspection staff shall have 3 years or more experience performing electrical/IT inspections for Building Construction.

● Candidate must possess the ability to work well with others in large programs; must be kind, well-mannered & respectful at all times with colleagues, stakeholders, construction community & non-construction personnel.

● Must be open to learning the prescriptive items required by the agency.

Education/Training

● High school diploma (or equivalent).

● CAL OSHA-30 (30-hour Cal-OSHA training prior to assignment; training must have been received within the last 4 years).

● Training & certificate completion of NFPA-13.

● Fall protection and Harness certification.

● Current ICC Certification as a Commercial Electrical Inspector.

● Proof of NFPE-70E standards. Completion of training must have been achieved within the last 3 years.

Element-Specific Requirements/Notes

● May assume other duties as required/needed.

● Maybe required to work various shifts as needed.

● Shall be open to work modified schedules including nights & weekends as dictated by the contractors’ work activities & accelerated project schedules.

● Work schedule: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM, Sunday night – Friday morning.

● This is NOT a hybrid/work-from-home position.

● Cell phone and computer will be provided.

The offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The salary range for this position is $128,000-140,000.
