Description We are looking for a dedicated Financial Aid Advisor to join our team in Long Beach, California. As part of the education industry, this contract position requires an individual who can guide students through financial aid processes with empathy and efficiency. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring compliance with regulations while delivering exceptional support to students and collaborating with other departments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized assistance to students throughout the financial aid process, ensuring clarity and understanding of required steps.
- Identify underlying challenges faced by students and offer innovative solutions to address barriers to enrollment or continued education.
- Communicate the advantages of the institution by aligning its benefits with the values and needs of students and their influencers.
- Accurately administer financial aid processes while adhering to state and federal regulations.
- Educate students on their financial aid rights and responsibilities, loan options, scholarships, and alternative funding solutions.
- Collaborate with Admissions, Student Services, and other departments to enhance student satisfaction and improve retention rates.
- Manage an assigned caseload of students using tools and processes to ensure timely and effective support.
- Work with Admissions Representatives and Student Affairs Advisors to assess student situations and predict enrollment or graduation likelihood.
- Handle inbound inquiries and proactively assist customers with billing, benefits, and other financial matters.
- Ensure consistent communication and follow-up to address student needs effectively. Requirements - Proficiency in financial services platforms such as ADP and familiarity with Avaya CMS.
- Experience working with computer programs and CRM systems.
- Knowledge of Epic Software and other related tools.
- Strong ability to assist customers and address their needs with professionalism.
- Skilled in managing billing functions and financial aid processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
