Whether you’re building our products, supporting our customers, growing our community, or shaping our story, you’ll help define what comes next.About the Role: You’ll help define Growth Design at Vercel and shape the complete self-serve journey: signup, onboarding, first project and deployment, adoption, conversion, expansion, and retention. The work spans people, agents, and the handoffs between them. You’ll report into Product Design and work closely with Growth Product, Engineering and Data. You’ll have the authority and support to move from an observed problem to a working prototype, shipped experience, and measured result. Vercel gives you unlimited access to leading LLMs and in-house tools that make product data easier to explore. If a tool limits the work, you can partner directly with its builders or improve it yourself. This role does not come with a mature Growth Design playbook, stable briefs, or one bounded product surface. Priorities change as evidence arrives. Some experiments will not ship. Our data and tools allow us to validate hypotheses. You should enjoy finding the right problem, making something real, working through implementation, and staying accountable after launch. If you’re based within a pre-determined commuting distance of one of our offices (SF, NY, London, or Berlin), the role includes in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. What You Will Do: Own the self-serve experience across onboarding, activation, adoption, monetization, and retention for people and agents. Find high-impact opportunities through customer research, product data, and direct use of Vercel. Co-own Growth strategy, priorities, hypotheses, and success measures with Growth Product, Engineering, and Data. Build and test working prototypes using the right tools for the question, including Figma, v0, Cursor, and Claude Code. Design and ship experiments, stay involved through implementation, and interpret results without losing sight of trust, accessibility, or the broader funnel. Turn what works into durable product improvements, reusable patterns, and better internal tools. Share the learning so Design and Growth improve with every experiment. About You: Your portfolio demonstrates strong product design fundamentals and measurable outcomes. It shows how you identified opportunities, understood a funnel, chose what to measure, tested ideas, and improved a shipped product. You have owned ambiguous, complex work from problem framing through launch and iteration. You create clarity and make progress without waiting for a complete brief. You can form useful hypotheses, choose success and guardrail measures, and interpret quantitative and qualitative evidence with Data partners. You build interactive prototypes independently using modern AI tools. You are comfortable prompting, working near code, and learning whatever helps you validate an idea. You design clear, trustworthy experiences across skill levels and abilities. You care about interaction details, edge cases, language, accessibility, and recovery. You work directly with Product, Engineering, and Data, explain tradeoffs clearly, seek feedback early, and stay involved through implementation. You know when to use or evolve a system and when a one-off is the fastest responsible way to learn. Bonus If You: Have shipped AI or agent experiences. Have an engineering background or experience contributing production web code. Have designed developer tools, infrastructure, or other technical products, or are already familiar with Vercel. The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $172,000 - $258,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role.
