We have an exciting opportunity for Software Engineer on our Productivity team in the Application Networking and Security Division (ANS). You will be part of a tightly knit and fast paced team that will work in an agile environment solving key internal/external customer challenges. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

• You will contribute towards developing next gen framework to support pipelines for ANS
• You will contribute towards bringing in LLM frameworks into the current framework
• You will collaborate effectively with other engineers and researchers to solve complex problems.
• You will bring your knowledge of distributed systems and network security as needed.
• You will be driven and passionate about understanding customer needs and crafting high quality solutions to meet those needs.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

• Deliver product/framework features in a highly scalable distributed model.
• Participate in all phases of the software development cycle as part of an agile team.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver high quality code with tests in place to prevent any regressions.
• Lead and participate in code reviews.
• Write design specifications and document your work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors in Computer Science & Engineering and 5+ years related experience or Masters in Computer Science & Engineering and 3+ years related experience
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, and design patterns
• Solid knowledge of OOP concepts, object/data modeling, and data structures.
• Python, Golang experience is a plus.
• Bonus: Understand LLM frameworks

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like? The hiring manager for this role is Lalitha Sripada, Manager, ANS Division. Her team focuses on end-to-end pipelines for ANS products that include developing frameworks used across the pipelines. These frameworks cater to both enterprise products and saas products. Her management philosophy is to create an engineering driven environment where people thrive and learn how to build frameworks from ground up. As a VMware veteran, she got excellent clarity of thought and communication, technical depth balanced with business objectives. Proven track record in leading the team through various product releases. Hands-on leader who understands the technology and works with top technical talent for best results to the organization. Additional : Compensation and Benefits The annual base salary range for this position is $91,200 - $152,000. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
