Now Hiring: Packing Associate – Plant Production (Temp Position)

Location: Carpinteria, CA

Employment Type: Temporary / Contract

Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour

Schedule: Schedule availability required

Position Summary

Our client in Carpinteria, CA is seeking detail-oriented Packing Associates to support plant production and order fulfillment operations. This role participates directly in the preparation, packing, and quality verification of orchid and garden orders. Packing Associates are responsible for ensuring all plants and materials meet quality standards, comply with order specifications, and are properly prepared for shipment.

This position requires standing for extended periods, attention to detail, and teamwork in a production environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and pack orchids, gardens, and all materials required for each customer order
• Perform visual inspections of each plant to ensure it is complete, healthy, and free of pests or defects
• Pack plants following established methods to prevent damage during handling and shipping
• Read and follow production recipes to verify correct plants and materials are used
• Notify supervisor when materials are missing or insufficient to complete tasks
• Report waste generated from plants, ceramics, packaging, and other materials
• Follow all instructions provided by the Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor
• Participate in required trainings and team meetings
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations and production floors throughout the shift
• Assist with cleaning responsibilities in common production areas, including bathrooms and dining areas
• Adhere to company Chain of Command Communication Protocol: Direct Supervisor → Operations Manager → HR → CEO → Owner
• Report any issues, concerns, or incidents promptly to supervision and Human Resources
• Support other production areas when needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Ability to work on foot for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry materials as required by the role
