Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Supervising Transportation Engineer, Caltrans (Corridor Director), the Staff Services Manager I (TransNet Program Office Manager), performs a wide variety of fiscal, management, and staff services functions such as planning, prioritizing, organizing, and directing the workload assignments of the District's TransNet Program Office. The incumbent is responsible for the effective resolution of a broad range of supervisory problems, making recommendations on a broad spectrum of administrative and program-related problems, supervising a team of professional and analytical staff, and doing other related work.

Working Conditions
Position located at 4050 Taylor Street, San Diego, CA 92110, San Diego County.
Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment. While at the base of operation, the incumbent works in a climate-controlled office under natural and artificial lighting. Multi-floor buildings are equipped with elevators and stairs. Some travel may be required.New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
Special Requirements
- Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a State owned or leased vehicle.
The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required to be considered for an interview. Failure to include and complete the SOQ may result in disqualification for interview. The SOQ must be no more than two pages in length, typed in 12-point Arial font, and single-spaced. It should address the following items:
- Describe your experience and ability to resolve complex technical problems and explain the steps you take to develop alternatives or potential solutions.
- Describe your experience and approach to working in a diverse work environment and how you establish, develop, and maintain partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Describe your experience or approach for leading a multidisciplinary team with members at various levels of experience (provide specific examples).
- Describe your experience in managing multiple complex assignments while balancing competing priorities and meeting strict schedules.
- Describe your knowledge and experience in using AMS, DATALINK, MS Excel, or other accounting software used for managing project financials.
