Controller for a personal injury law firm
**Job Overview** We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, including budgeting, cash management, and financial reporting. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the organization's financial performance and contribute to its overall success. **Duties** - Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. - Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts receivable, payable, and payroll. - Develop and implement budgeting strategies and financial planning initiatives to optimize financial performance. - Ensure timely and accurate payment of bills, invoices, and other financial obligations. - Collaborate with senior management to identify areas of cost savings and implement process improvements. - Oversee and manage cash management and cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity and minimizing financial risk. - Stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with SOX and other relevant laws and regulations. - Conduct financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions and strategic planning. - Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including department heads and senior management. - Provide guidance and training to finance staff and other team members. **Qualifications** - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. - Strong understanding of financial concepts and principles, including GAAP and regulatory reporting. - Proven experience in double entry bookkeeping and financial reporting. - Experience with payroll management and accounts receivable and payable. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong leadership and communication skills. - Experience with financial report writing and budgeting. - Knowledge of SOX and other relevant laws and regulations. - Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
