Donations Ambassador
:
The Donations Ambassador plays a crucial role in managing the quality of incoming donated products and ensuring positive interactions with donors. This position requires exceptional communication and organization skills, attention to detail, and a passion for fostering positive relationships with donors. The Donation Ambassador will work closely with the donations team to enhance the overall donor experience and contribute to the success of our organization's mission.
Duties and Responsibilities
Donor Interactions:
- Greet and engage with donors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide information about the organization's mission, values, and impact to donors.
- Assist donors with unloading and organizing their donations.
Quality Control:
- Inspect incoming donated items for quality, cleanliness, and adherence to donation guidelines.
- Identify and manage the appropriate disposal of items that do not meet quality standards.
- Ensure that all donated items are properly documented, categorized, priced, and merchandised on the sales floor.
Communication:
- Maintain clear and effective communication with donors, explaining donation guidelines and policies.
- Address donor inquiries, concerns, or issues promptly and courteously.
- Collaborate with internal teams to communicate donor feedback and improve processes.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with Store Management to streamline the donation process.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow from product receiving, to product merchandising.
- Leading the team to maintain organized records of incoming donations and processing inventory in point-of-sale system properly.
Training and Development:
- Stay informed about the organization's mission, values, and programs.
- Participate, and sometimes lead, training sessions to enhance the team's knowledge of donation guidelines and quality standards.
- Contribute to the training of new team members on donor interactions and quality control procedures.
Skills & Knowledge
- Proven experience in a customer service or donor relations role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to assess and manage product quality.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing priorities.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
- Passion for the organization's mission and a commitment to promoting positive donor experiences.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Knowledge and compliance of OSHA Standards
- Must have knowledge of and a willingness to enforce jobsite safety
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in customer service a plus.
- 1-2 years work experience in retail
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift over 20 lbs on a frequent basis and 50 lbs occasionally.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
