Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• Proficiency in English (per 38 U.S.C. 7403(f)).
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (ACEN or CCNE).
• Option for individuals in master's level bridge programs to become registered nurses prior to completion.
• Foreign nursing graduates must possess current, unrestricted registration and may require degree equivalency validation.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license in the U.S. or its territories.
• Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) candidates may be appointed temporarily while pursuing licensure.
• Preferred experience includes over 2 years in management, unit leadership, oncology patient care, and outpatient infusion.
• National nursing certification in Oncology.

Duties

• Provide clinical and administrative leadership under the guidance of the Chief Nurse-Hospital Care Service.
• Manage nursing practice and operations within designated areas.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centered care.
• Supervise nursing personnel, develop policies, and ensure standards of care and practice are met.
• Plan, assign, evaluate, and develop staff; handle employee relations and performance issues.
• Maintain accreditation readiness, manage performance improvement, patient safety, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
• Develop partnerships with physicians and clinicians, manage staffing and scheduling, and participate in hospital committees.
• Address educational needs, support student and new nurse orientation, and ensure coverage during absences.
