Operations Support Specialist
The Operations Support Specialist is a part of the operations team and is responsible for assisting the managers as directed during warehouse operations, guaranteeing quality, security, safety and efficiency in accordance with relevant operational and technical parameters. In addition, the Operations Support Specialist is responsible for assisting in preventive maintenance and repairs in his duties as determined by Warehouse Management.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Work closely with warehouse staff while handling cargo as directed safely and in a manner to complete tasks according to plans.
- Ensure that all required personnel wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), such as safety vest, safety toe boots, safety glasses and protective hard hat, when applicable and reports any violations to the manager.
- May be required to assists in the investigation and reporting damages and liabilities to the appropriate management and authorities.
- Supports, monitors and trouble shoots, when necessary, ensuring data is accurate and informs staff of any discrepancies.
- Reports problems and issues to appropriate Manager to the operation
- Must understand and adhere to safety procedures while implementing plans to address safety hazards.
- Assist managers to ensure proper communication between all parties, vendors, carriers, customers, and staff, as directed.
- Reports any deviation from company policies and procedures to the manager.
- Required and able to operate all types of equipment at LSI Stockton location.
- Performs other related duties as required
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years' experience operating powered industrial truck type equipment.
- Basic knowledge or principles of terminal operations.
- Knowledge of safety and accident prevention codes and regulations.
- Knowledge and understanding of cargo stowage and stability strongly desired.
- Requires problem solving skills to respond quickly and effectively to operational issues
- Requires the ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced environment and be available to work varied hours and days
- CDL highly recommended not required
Work environment:
- Must be able to work in rotating shifts, days, evenings and nights.
- Must be able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures of hot and cold, extremely dusty conditions and occasionally, conditions of high levels of noise.
- The ability to work in an environment that may be hazardous to persons unable to see and hear fast moving equipment
- The ability to drive 50%
- The ability to operate various types of equipment.
