Job Description

CyberSource Corporation, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Chief SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Foster City, CA to:

• Architect, design, and code highly scalable and reliable transaction processing systems.
• Actively contribute to critical projects by developing key modules, core frameworks and automation tools.
• Establish engineering best practices for application development, testing, deployment and monitoring.
• Define technical strategy for the payment processing platform that aligns with the product vision and accelerates innovation and time to market.
• Collaborate with business partners to convert product requirements into high quality solutions that comply with all nonfunctional requirements, including security, scalability, availability, and reliability.
• Provide technology leadership and motivate a high performing team of senior engineers to set clear priorities to achieve product/technology goals and KPIs.
• Collaborate with security, privacy, and governance teams to ensure that the products developed comply with relevant policies, standards, and regulations.
• Position reports to the Foster City, California office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, followed by 12 years of progressive experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science Applied Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, and 9 years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation.

Position requires experience in the following:

1. Experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable and secure distributed applications.
2. Software engineering experience in both on-premises and cloud environments.
3. One or more modern programming languages (Java, Python).
4. Hands-on experience in software product development utilizing technologies, tools, or frameworks such as Tomcat, Spring, GIT/Stash, or Sonar.
5. Experience developing event-driven applications using technologies like Kafka and MQ.
6. SQL and an understanding of other relational database technologies.
7. Experience with containerization technologies and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes.
8. Experience working with distributed caching technologies such as Hazelcast and Redis.
9. Experience in deployment and distribution lifecycle with automated and scalable CI/CD tools, including Jenkins and Maven.
10. Continuous delivery and DevOps experience, including infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging, auditing, and security implementation and practices.
11. Experience in API development using SOAP or REST, JSON, and XML.

Additional Information

Worksite: Foster City, CA

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is $217,600.00 to $348,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
