The Opportunity:
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing floor in a fast-paced food and beverage production facility. This role ensures that all production processes meet company standards for quality, safety, efficiency, and compliance with food safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who excels at optimizing production lines, managing cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement. This position will lead, coach, and set direction for multiple line leaders and supervisors on a daily basis. Reports to the Plant Director.
What You’ll Do:
- Plan, coordinate, and control manufacturing processes to ensure products are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
- Lead and manage production supervisors and line leads to ensure smooth daily operations across all shifts.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust resources to meet customer demand while minimizing downtime and waste.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety standards (FDA, HACCP, GMP, SQF, etc.) and company policies.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and R&D teams to ensure seamless production support and issue resolution.
- Analyze production data and KPIs to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce cost, and improve product quality.
- Train, coach, and develop production staff, fostering a culture of accountability and engagement.
- Prepare and present regular reports on production metrics, including yield, efficiency, and labor performance.
- Manage inventory of raw materials and packaging to prevent shortages or overstock.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory visits as required.
- Support implementation of new equipment, systems, or products into production.
- Perform other related duties or assignments as directed by senior management.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, including HACCP, GMP, FDA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Proven leadership and team development skills with the ability to motivate and manage cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient with production planning software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as necessary to support production needs.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Tolerance for working in a range of temperatures, including refrigerated or hot environments depending on the facility.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $90,000-$115,000. The compensation offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and/or education.
