Jira Program Manager (Foster City)

One of the country's leading autonomous vehicle companies is seeking a talented Program Manager with strong Jira and web development expertise to join their dynamic engineering team on a hybrid basis in Foster City, CA. This exciting opportunity to support cutting-edge engineering teams at one of the industry's fastest-growing players begins as a 6-month W2 contract with at least 3 days onsite in Foster City, CA . You’ll be working alongside passionate innovators at the forefront of mobility technology and have access to competitive benefits during the contract period before potential extension or conversion to permanent employment.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the go-to administrator and technical expert for Jira and Confluence, configuring projects and optimizing workflows to maximize team productivity.
• Support technical stakeholders with Jira best practices , troubleshooting, custom fields, dashboards, permissions, and seamless tool integrations.
• Design and implement automated processes , integrations, and dashboards to drive data transparency and enhance engineering efficiency.
• Partner with engineering leads and PMO to analyze and refine core development workflows and standardize sprint planning, bug tracking, and feature management processes.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve process excellence, providing project coordination and administrative support throughout.
• Build and maintain custom Jira dashboards and performance reports, translating stakeholder needs into actionable metrics that drive project health and visibility.
• Foster Jira adoption and provide training and guidance to engineering teams, ensuring effective and consistent tool usage.

Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
• Minimum 6 years of technical program or project management experience in a software development setting.
• Deep expertise with Atlassian Jira and Confluence, including advanced configuration, workflow design, complex JQL queries, shared dashboards, and tool automation.
• Proficient in Agile methodologies , with hands-on experience supporting sprint operations, backlog grooming, and project tracking within Jira.
• Experience i ntegrating Jira with code repositories (such as Git) to automate and enhance SDLC traceability.
• Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-team initiatives and driving continuous process improvements.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to define KPIs, analyze trends, and deliver actionable insights from data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with a knack for training users and simplifying technical topics.
• Proven capability to operate independently, translating engineering requirements into scalable operational solutions.
