Burn ICU RN Job Details

• Location: Madison, WI
• Position: Locum Tenens Burn ICU Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Employment Type: 13-week travel contract
• Unit: Burn Intensive Care Unit (BICU)
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30), including weekends and holidays
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2130-$2190
• Patient Population: Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Facility Highlights: Magnet-designated, ACS-verified Burn Center, Level One Trauma Center

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state RN license (must be in hand at submission)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in ICU, Burn ICU, or critical care nursing
• Basic Arrhythmia and Telemetry experience; must pass Telemetry exam prior to start
• EPIC charting experience within the past 12 months preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from Madison, WI
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Burn ICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to burn and critical care patients in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for burn ICU patients
• Float to other critical care units as needed to support hospital staffing
• Utilize advanced clinical skills: ventilator management, central line care, blood product administration, ABG and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Maintain strict infection prevention and isolation protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Promote a patient-centered approach in a state-of-the-art critical care setting
