Job Announcement Preschool Associate Teacher Job Description
Under the guidance of the Preschool Teacher, the State/IASA Preschool Associate Teacher will assist in the implementation of the educational program for students in the preschool classroom.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The State/IASA Preschool Associate Teacher serves on all days required for the State/IASA Preschool Program as defined in the state Preschool Guidelines. They are placed on the District Classified Salary Schedule based on years of employment in the program.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a valid California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit
A degree in Child Development is desirable
Experience in a Compensatory Preschool class as well as instructional experience in other educational programs for young children and parents is desirable
Upon Conditional Offer of Employment:
DOJ and FBI Criminal Background Check
TB Test within the last 60 days (Education Code 49406, Assembly Bill 1667)
Complete district Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment, etc.
Must obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR Certificate (In-Person Training ONLY)
Immunizations required by SB 792; Influenza, Pertussis and Measles
State Mandated Preschool Forms, including a health screening completed by a physician.
