Statewide Industry Engagement Manager

Job Description and Duties

The Statewide Industry Engagement Manager facilitates highly complex and sensitive industry engagement activities and executes support for strategic business-focused events under the general supervision of the Associate Deputy Director for Industry Engagement and Development at the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz). This position requires close engagement with key stakeholders and understanding of market dynamics in key sectors in California. This position includes particular focus on pilot sectors identified in the California Jobs First Blueprint – Space, Life Sciences, Agtech, and Semiconductors – however engagement may be broadened to include any leading industries for employment in California. This position manages two Analyst IIs, who will oversee administrative efforts related to Pilot Sector Working Groups and event management. This position may include approximately 25% travel.

Hybrid: T his position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule and requires reporting in-person at headquarters in Sacramento up to 4 times a week. #li-hybrid

Salary

IN MOST CASES, ALL NEW TO STATE EMPLOYEES MUST START AT THE MINIMUM OF THE POSTED SALARY RANGE.

In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). Under this program, employees’ monthly base pay is reduced in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025. The specific rate of pay reduction and corresponding leave credits are determined by the employee’s bargaining unit and classification. Please refer to the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) website here for details regarding the applicable PLP 2025 provisions. The salary listed in this job advertisement does not reflect the pay reduction or corresponding leave credits associated with PLP 2025, which remains in effect through June 30, 2027.
