Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Specialist
Are you an experienced
an experienced Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Specialist who understands ECM not just as a system, but as a core business function supporting compliance, accessibility, and operational efficiency .
This role is ideal for someone who has worked in structured, high-volume document environments (e.g., legal, utilities, engineering, or enterprise corporate settings) and can bridge the gap between technology, governance, and business users .
Candidates must be based in the Greater Los Angeles area and able to work onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and support enterprise content management solutions that enable secure, scalable document storage and retrieval
- Develop and maintain metadata structures, taxonomy, and information architecture
- Manage the full document lifecycle (creation, versioning, retention, archiving, and defensible disposition)
- Configure and support document security , including access controls and permissions
- Partner with stakeholders to align ECM solutions with business processes and compliance requirements
- Support or lead migration efforts from shared drives or legacy systems into centralized ECM platforms
- Improve user adoption by simplifying workflows, dashboards, and searchability
- Ensure systems meet audit, compliance, and regulatory standards
- Troubleshoot issues related to document organization, accessibility, and data integrity
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with one or more ECM platforms such as:
- OpenText (Content Suite, eDOCS, xECM)
- SharePoint (in structured/enterprise environments)
- Documentum or similar platforms
- OpenText (Content Suite, eDOCS, xECM)
- Strong understanding of information governance and records management principles
- Experience designing or managing metadata, taxonomy, or document classification systems
- Experience implementing or supporting document-level security and access controls (ACLs)
- Experience working in compliance-driven environments (legal, utilities, healthcare, engineering, etc.)
- Ability to translate business needs into structured ECM solutions
- Must be located in the Greater Los Angeles Area and able to work onsite
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with OpenText platforms (strong plus, not required)
- Experience integrating ECM systems with enterprise tools (SAP, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, etc.)
- Experience supporting large-scale repositories (hundreds of thousands to millions of documents)
- Background in process improvement or workflow optimization
- Experience driving user adoption and change management
