We’re seeking a stellar Backend Engineer with 2-4 years of experience to join our San Francisco team and propel our mission forward. As a key member of our 18-person team, you’ll design and build robust, scalable backend systems that power our no-code AI platform, ensuring seamless integration of LLMs and diverse data sources. This role is ideal for a highly skilled engineer who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, excels at clean coding practices, and can independently organize projects while collaborating closely with our founding team. Based in our San Francisco office (with hybrid options considered), you’ll play a critical role in shaping the infrastructure that supports our rapidly growing user base and diverse enterprise applications, from AI chatbots to complex data processing pipelines.

• Develop and maintain scalable backend systems using Python and FastAPI to support our no-code platform and its integrations with AI models and data sources.
• Design, optimize, and manage database infrastructure (SQL and NoSQL) to ensure high performance, reliability, and responsiveness for frontend requests.
• Integrate and deploy new AI models (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) into production environments, maintaining existing models for optimal performance and scalability.
• Implement type validation, C repository management, and data mapping to ensure robust and efficient backend operations.
• Collaborate with the founding team to align backend development with company goals, user needs, and product roadmap.
• Advocate for clean coding practices, optimal project organization, and innovative backend technologies to enhance system performance and maintainability.
• Engage directly with users by occasionally diving into customer support to understand their needs, build strong relationships, and inform backend improvements.
• Stay ahead of industry trends in backend development, AI integration, and cloud technologies, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

• Required :
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of professional backend development experience, with a proven track record of building and maintaining large-scale systems.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with FastAPI or similar web frameworks.
  • Strong expertise in database management and optimization, with experience in SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Supabase, SQLAlchemy).
  • Proficiency in type validation, C repository management, and data mapping for robust backend operations.
  • Practical experience with cloud services, particularly AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda).
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization and orchestration tools.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of software engineering principles.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced startup environment.
• Preferred :
  • Knowledge of AI model integration and deployment, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines or embedding generation.
  • Experience with large-scale data processing and handling complex AI workflows.
  • A passion for AI and technology, with a curiosity for learning new skills and adapting to evolving challenges.
  • Comfort wearing multiple hats in an early-stage startup, with a proactive and innovative mindset.

• Salary : $160,000–$180,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
