Bookkeeper (Oak Meadows)

WinnCompanies is looking for a Bookkeeper to join our team at Oak Meadows, a 44-unit affordable housing community located in Oakley, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of this site.

Please note that the pay rate for this position is $26.00 per hour. Additionally, the selected candidate will adhere to the following work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM, with occasional weekends as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee rent collection, including: sending late rent notices, communicating with Legal Department regarding new and ongoing cases, processing payments, and conducting related programs.
  • Create, monitor, and close Purchase Orders on a daily basis. Resolve Payscan workflow exceptions.
  • Review, submit, and follow up on all payable invoices. Answer any questions and research any issues concerning utilities. Create relevant monthly reports.
  • Assist manager in monthly Accounts Receivable reporting and tracking. As specified, create monthly/quarterly/annual reports for Agencies, Lenders and Owners. Process Reserve for Replacement drawdowns. Assist in yearly preparation of budgets and monthly/quarterly budget updates.
  • Perform regular monthly tasks, including, but not limited to: managing petty cash, security deposit posting and refunds, resolve unpaid subsidy issues, etc.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Prior AR/AP experience.
  • Basic accounting skills. Understanding of debits and credits, income statements, and balance sheets.
  • Advanced skills with computer systems, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Superb attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in accounting, business, or related field.
  • Accounting or bookkeeping related educational certificate.
  • Advanced knowledge of housing regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with RealPage property management software.

Salary will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
