Staff Services Analyst - Budget Analyst
Job Description and Duties
This position is being considered at the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) level. To be considered at the AGPA level, you must apply to JC- 486663.
This position is eligible to work a hybrid telework schedule. The physical reporting location for this position is near Folsom Lake, and is close to historic Folsom, eateries, shopping, walking trails, and offers free parking! This position is not located inside of a prison.

Under supervision of the Chief of Budgeting and Financial Planning, the Staff Services Analyst (General) (SSA) assists in the coordination, preparation, and analysis functions of the California Prison Industry Authority's budget and other related fiscal items.

Employees new to CALPIA will be required to attend New Employee Orientation (NEO) prior to starting work within an institution or Central Office. NEO is 4.5 days (36 hours) and will be conducted at the Green Valley Training Center in Folsom, CA. New employees traveling 50 miles or more from their home address or headquarters location to attend NEO will receive a travel advance sufficient for meals, incidentals, and travel accommodations for the duration of NEO. Any questions or concerns regarding NEO training can be addressed during the interview process.

- Experience in State Fiscal/Budget: Budget planning, forecasting, development and analysis
- Private Budgeting Work Experience: Budget planning, forecasting, development and analysis
- Experience with Microsoft software (ex: Outlook, Teams, Word, Power Point, and Excel)
- Experience in the Preparation of Reports and presentations to management
- Work experience developing/delivering budgetary training
- Experience in Customer Service/Assisting Others/Work Support Experience
- Education Level (HS Diploma, AA/AS Degree, BA/BS Degree, Master's Degree)
