Hospitality Manager

Marina Beach Wine
San Francisco, CA

Marina Beach—opening in San Francisco’s scenic Marina District this fall—is seeking a passionate, detail-oriented front-of-house Wine & Hospitality Manager to lead and inspire our service team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who values hospitality with intention and is excited to help shape the guest experience in a dynamic, evolving environment. Join us as we build something special, rooted in creativity, community, and care.

Why Work with Us?

We’re more than just a wine bar. At our core, we’re a platform for creativity—regularly hosting traveling and up-and-coming chefs as they bring new ideas to life in a welcoming, collaborative space. We invest in the growth of our team, tailoring opportunities to match each individual’s strengths, interests, and career goals.

Our hospitality group includes an organic biodynamic farm, creating a direct connection between our kitchen, our team, and the land. This relationship will shape our food program and deepen our commitment to sustainability and transparency.

We serve a curated selection of low-intervention wines and regularly highlight unique winemakers through special events and rotating features—offering our team the chance to engage deeply with the natural wine community.

What sets us apart?

  • A people-focused culture that values teamwork, growth, and integrity
  • Competitive compensation and benefits
  • A unique leadership opportunity to support both the FOH and BOH teams while working closely with talented chefs-in-residence
  • We invest in employee development and prioritize a culture of appreciation and respect

Position Overview

This role goes beyond traditional leadership—it calls for someone who embraces the artistry of hospitality, leads with intention, and sets a standard of service that is polished, warm, and deeply human.

You’ll oversee and harmonize three interwoven concepts:

  • A chef residency program that demands thoughtful coordination and creative support
  • An ever-evolving natural wine list that prioritizes education, storytelling, and curation
  • A founder-led menu rooted in personal heritage and South Asian flavors

Key Responsibilities

Operations : Lead daily operations, ensuring top-tier service and smooth systems (POS, reservations, ordering).

Team Leadership : Hire, train, and retain a high-performing team in alignment with Marina Beach values.

Guest Experience : Uphold warm, memorable hospitality. Handle feedback with care and professionalism.

Inventory & Vendors : Manage stock and vendor relations. Source unique, sustainable wines; attend tastings and pairings.

Compliance & Safety : Ensure health, safety, and liquor law compliance. Maintain a clean, safe environment.

Marketing & Events : Partner on brand-forward events and chef collaborations. Coordinate FOH/BOH seamlessly.

BOH Coordination : Understand kitchen ops and safety standards. Onboard chefs and align FOH/BOH for peak service.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in restaurant, bar, or hospitality management.
  • Deep knowledge of natural wines, beverage programs, and food pairings.
  • Experience working directly with winemakers is a plus.
  • Passion for wine education and the ability to train staff and engage with guests.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Experience with restaurant technology, POS systems, and order management platforms.
  • Adaptability to work with rotating chefs and manage new culinary programs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
