Position Overview
The Dosimetrist will play a critical role in the radiation treatment planning process, ensuring accurate delivery of radiation to patients. This position is ideal for a dedicated professional looking to further their career in medical physics and dosimetry within a dynamic team in Redding, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality assurance and safety checks on treatment plans and equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Utilize planning systems such as Raystation to develop customized radiation treatment plans for patients.
- Work collaboratively with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to optimize treatment strategies.
- Oversee the operation of linear accelerators (Linacs) such as Elekta, ensuring proper setup and functioning of equipment.
- Utilize record and verify systems, specifically Mosaiq, to log treatment sessions and patient data accurately.
- Stay current with advancements in treatment planning technology and dosage calculations.
- Contribute to educational activities and training for staff members regarding dosimetry practices.
Essential Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting as a Dosimetrist or in a related role.
- Demonstrated expertise in quality assurance procedures and protocols.
- Proficient in planning systems, specifically Raystation.
- Experience with linear accelerators, particularly Elekta.
- Familiarity with record and verify systems, particularly Mosaiq.
Desired Experience
Candidates with additional experience in dosimetry practices, as well as those familiar with the latest technologies and treatment methodologies, will be preferred.
Salary & Benefits
The annual salary for this position ranges from $130,000 to $170,000 , based on the candidate's interview performance and skill set. Candidates are encouraged to discuss their salary expectations during the interview process. Additional benefits will be discussed during the hiring process.
