Staff Software Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer with 5–8 years of experience to take technical leadership on key projects and drive impact across the organization. This is a high-ownership role where you will lead end-to-end initiatives, influence architecture decisions, and scale enterprise-grade applications.

You will work closely with product managers and other engineers to design and build scalable systems , mentor teammates, and contribute to the evolution of the tech stack. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in fast-moving environments, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and are excited to shape the architecture and culture of a growing engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects end-to-end, from conception to deployment, collaborating closely with product managers.

• Design and build scalable full-stack applications using Python/Django (backend) and React (frontend).

• Contribute to system-level design, architectural decisions, and technical innovation.

• Work with large datasets and service-oriented architectures.

• Mentor other engineers and provide technical leadership across the team.

• Ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability across all projects.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in full-stack software engineering.

• Strong backend experience with Python/Django .

• Modern frontend expertise with React and JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Experience with system design for large-scale infrastructure.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.

• Experience at a Series B (or similar stage) startup preferred.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentorship skills.

• Ability to work remotely in US time zones (ideally based in SF or NYC).
