Position Overview:

The Unit-Ward Clerk role involves supporting the Director of Nursing and Unit Managers by monitoring the completion of records as well as nursing station organization.

• Initiate and coordinate the admission process, including completing the admission checklist and conducting facility tours for prospective residents.
• Maintain in-house chart appearance and organization, filing all incoming clinical information daily.
• Monitor and ensure timely return of signed telephone orders and documentation from physicians and other professionals.
• Prepare and organize paperwork for resident transfers, referrals, and discharges.
• Protect the privacy and security of health information by following all confidentiality and release-of-information procedures.
• Act as a liaison between the Nursing Department and other departments to support communication and workflow.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent (GED) required.
• Active CNA certification required.
• Proficiency in PointClickCare (PCC) and general computer systems and Familiarity with order entry processes is a plus.
• Previous experience as a Ward Clerk or Unit Clerk in a long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or other healthcare setting.

Schedule:

• Weekend Position
• Schedule: Every Saturday and Sunday
• Shift Start Time: 2:00 PM
• Consistent weekend availability required.
