Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) – Integrative & Nutritional Psychiatry

Integrative Healthcare Alliance (IHA) is an outpatient psychiatric clinic specializing in integrative, functional, and nutritional psychiatry. We are expanding and currently seeking four California-licensed PMHNPs with at least one year of clinical experience who are passionate about practicing psychiatry beyond quick medication visits.

This role is ideal for a provider who values root-cause care, longer patient encounters, and the thoughtful integration of lifestyle medicine, nutrition, psychotherapy, and psychopharmacology.

About the Role

This is a remote 1099 position, with a strong preference for clinicians located in Southern California due to referral networks, collaboration, and long-term growth opportunities within the clinic.

You will work with patients who are seeking a more comprehensive, relational, and holistic psychiatric experience—many of whom are motivated, self-aware, and invested in lifestyle change.

This is not a high-volume, medication-only practice.

Compensation & Schedule

*This model incorporates payment for each patient seen based on the time a provider conducted a session. In other words, we pay you for every hour you face a patient. No matter how long it is.*

• $110–$130 per clinical hour (time spent with patients)

• Emphasis on longer appointments (60-minute intakes, extended follow-ups)

• Target availability: ~35 hours per week

• Flexible scheduling with autonomy over your calendar

What Makes a Strong Fit at IHA

We are intentionally selective. The ideal PMHNP at IHA:

• Has at least 1 year of PMHNP experience (outpatient preferred)

• Is deeply curious about nutritional psychiatry, functional medicine, and lifestyle-based interventions

• Understands that medications are tools, not the entire treatment plan

• Is comfortable discussing:

• Nutrition, gut health, inflammation, metabolic health

• Sleep, stress physiology, hormones, and supplements

• Psychotherapy integration alongside medication

• Values therapeutic rapport, patient education, and collaborative care

• Practices with clinical confidence, humility, and emotional intelligence

• Is organized, responsive, and practices clean documentation

• Is aligned with ethical, patient-centered care over volume or shortcuts

Formal training in integrative or nutritional psychiatry is a strong plus, but not required if you demonstrate genuine interest and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and follow-ups

• Develop personalized, integrative treatment plans

• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications responsibly

• Incorporate nutritional, lifestyle, and behavioral strategies into care

• Collaborate with therapists and interdisciplinary providers

• Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation

• Practice within California scope and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Active California PMHNP license

• Active DEA license and furnishing number

• Minimum 1 year of PMHNP clinical experience

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting

• Reliable internet and professional home workspace
