Job Description and Duties

Under supervision: will operate specific vehicles requiring a valid unrestricted Class C Driver’s license; working individually or with a crew performing tasks related to the Caltrans Highway Maintenance Worker or Caltrans Landscape Maintenance Worker. Removing debris from roadways, 10-32 removal, pothole repairs, assist with pump plant repairs, paving operations, graffiti removal, and utilizing many different hand tools. Incumbent may be required to work overtime, work irregular shifts/alternate work schedules including nights, holidays and weekends; may be required to work temporary and/or intermittent work shifts and required to respond to emergency situations, and calls.

Working Conditions

Position located at 815 Camino Ramon, Danville, Contra Costa County.

Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment.

Incumbent will work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and may be exposed to the following condition: loud noise; dust; pollen; chemicals; dead animals; moving traffic; vehicle accidents; insects, reptiles, poison oak and other environmental conditions associated with Landscape Maintenance.

The incumbent will be required to wear safety equipment such as earplugs, hard hats, proper footwear, safety glasses, gloves, etc. May be required to assist in clean up in the event of an accident which may involve hazardous spills. May be required to work in confined spaces, homeless areas, and remove dead animals from right of way.
