Job Title : Digital Print Production Operator
Job Summary : Responsible for operating and maintaining large-format printing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials. This role involves setting up and running printing jobs, ensuring color accuracy, and maintaining the equipment for optimal performance. The operator must follow job specifications and quality standards to meet client requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
Printer Operation : Set up, operate, and maintain large format printing equipment, including grand format inkjet printers, plotters, and cutters.
Large Format Printing: Operate large format printers to produce high-quality graphics, banners, signs, and other large-scale visual materials.
Flatbed Printing: Manage and run flatbed printers for direct printing onto rigid substrates, ensuring quality output.
Able to learn CNC Cutting: Operate CNC cutters to accurately cut and finish printed materials to desired shapes and sizes.
Able to learn --Sign Making: Vinyl cutting, weeding, and application, as well as assembling and packing signs.
Job Preparation : Prepare printing materials, such as vinyl, canvas, paper, and adhesive substrates. Load and configure the printer with the appropriate media.
Quality Control : Monitor print jobs for quality, including resolution, color consistency, and print alignment. Adjustments as needed to maintain high-quality output.
Maintenance : Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on printing equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
Material Handling : Handle and organize printed materials, including cutting, laminating, and mounting, as required by job specifications.
File Preparation : Prepare and check digital files for printing, ensuring they meet printer and job requirements.
Safety : Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols when working with large-format printing equipment and materials.
Documentation : Maintain accurate records of print jobs, materials used, and any issues or changes encountered during the printing process.
Communication : Communicate with project managers to clarify job requirements, discuss options, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Inventory Management : Keep track of printing supplies, such as ink cartridges, media rolls, and other consumables, and help identify whenever reorder is necessary.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in printing technology is a plus.
- A willingness to learn and train on the job is essential.
- Previous experience as a printer operator, especially with grand format printing equipment.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting large-format printers, plotters, and related machinery preferred.
- Familiarity with working with measurements in fractions, decimals, and metric units, able to use a ruler.
- Some Knowledge of graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer skills for file preparation and equipment maintenance.
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift moderately heavy objects.
- Proficiency with use of Fiery and or Onyx RIP (raster image processor).
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- May require standing for extended periods, lifting heavy materials (50lbs assisted), and working in a sometimes-noisy environment.
- May need to work irregular hours to meet deadlines, especially for large projects.
- Performing other related duties as assigned
- 3 axis CNC operating experience a plus.
