The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer occupies a unique role at the intersection of technology, marketing, finance, statistics, data mining, and social science.

The Data, Insights, Science and Optimization, Consumer Product and Tech (DISCO CPT) team is looking for an Analytics Lead to join a team of Data Scientists, Analytics Leads, Business Intelligence Engineers and Data Engineers who analyze big data, provide analytics and insights as well as build models and algorithms that power product for personalized experiences. DISCO CPT team focuses on accelerating customer growth by empowering Product teams to make sound, customer-centric decisions through data and insights.

We build data pipelines, self-service analytics, insights and dashboards, deliver engagement and retention at scale.

In this role, you will lead the analytics and insights efforts for one of the product teams.

You will set the analytics roadmap and direction for the domain and work with stakeholders and partners to deliver self-service solutions, insights, learning white papers and models to advance our analytics and science offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluation of the performance of program features and marketing content along measures of customer response, use, conversion, and retention
-
Statistical testing of A/B and multivariate experiments
-
Design, build and maintain metrics and reports on program health
-
Respond to ad hoc requests from business leaders to investigate critical aspects of customer behavior, e.g. how many customers use a given feature or fit a given profile, deep dive into unusual patterns, and exploratory data analysis

Employ data mining, model building, segmentation, and other analytical techniques to capture important trends in the customer base
-
Participate in strategic and tactical planning discussions

Reporting to senior leadership and the team at large, on customer, product and customer insights and trends.

Proactively developing new metrics and studies to quantify customer behavior.

Combining online web customer behavior and offline customer attributes to gain novel and powerful understanding of Digital Music customers.

Quickly build a thorough understanding of the Digital Music industry, its seasonality and global business trends and continually monitor the impact of important industry developments.

Work closely with finance team to conduct business and financial analysis, including forecasting and monitoring of key business activity
Qualifications:

7+ years of experience working with large-scale complex datasets
-
Strong analytical mindset, ability to decompose business requirements into an analytical plan, and execute the plan to answer those business questions

Strong working knowledge of SQL

Background (academic or professional) in statistics, programming, and marketing

SAS experience a plus
-
Graduate degree in math/statistics, computer science or related field, or marketing is highly desirable.

Excellent communication skills, equally adept at working with engineers as well as business leaders
