The Lead Software Engineer will provide senior technical leadership in building and scaling Affluent Charter's benefit discovery and redemption platforms, delivering intuitive, reliable, and high-performance digital experiences for customers and partners. This role blends deep hands-on engineering expertise, architectural ownership, and cross-functional leadership, ensuring complex benefit ecosystems are transformed into simple, customer-centric experiences.

This position is ideal for a seasoned engineer with a strong product mindset, extensive experience designing distributed systems, and a passion for mentoring teams while remaining close to the code.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform & Architecture Leadership:

  • Own the technical roadmap for scalable benefit catalogs, eligibility determination, redemption flows, and fulfillment systems.
  • Ensure platforms meet high standards for performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
  • Drive architectural decisions that balance rapid iteration with long-term platform evolution.

Engineering Execution & Mentorship:

  • Act as a senior technical leader and hands-on contributor across core platform initiatives.
  • Mentor and guide engineers across teams in a matrixed organization, setting standards for design, code quality, and delivery.
  • Decompose complex initiatives into executable work and ensure alignment across multiple teams.
  • Promote best practices in system design, testing strategies, observability, and documentation.

Partner & Integration Enablement:

  • Lead complex integrations with benefit providers, merchants, and technology partners.
  • Solve multi-system challenges spanning identity, eligibility logic, redemption workflows, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point for high-impact partner and customer integrations.
  • Translate business, product, and regulatory requirements into robust technical solutions.

Quality, Process & Scale:

  • Define and evolve engineering and integration standards aligned with enterprise and fintech best practices.
  • Build and improve simulation, sandbox, and integration testing tools to accelerate development and partner onboarding.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and operational requirements.
  • Deliver against platform reliability, performance, and experience KPIs.

Customer & Product Advocacy:

  • Represent customer needs within engineering, advocating for clarity, simplicity, and exceptional user experience.
  • Incorporate feedback from customers, partners, and internal teams into continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and support teams to ensure technical execution meets experience goals.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
