JOB SUMMARY
The Cafeteria Manager/Supervisor prepares and serves food items to students and/or school personnel, maintains food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition, and supervises and supports scholars. This position works with scholars, parents and outside consultants/vendors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Collaborate with other staff to ensure adequate supervision and a safe environment in the cafeteria, including enforcing school rules, school boundaries, and school behavior expectations
Oversee Cafeteria Assistant or any support staff or volunteers supporting meal service
Educate scholars, staff and families on nutrition as appropriate
Manage student allergy information and inform colleagues as needed; monitors student eating patterns as needed and informs administrators or parents regarding issues
Liaise with nutrition representative(s) at HO to ensure compliance and up-to-date professional development
Oversee meal application effort in partnership with Business Manager, including parent application support
Help mediate and resolve conflicts between students and supports administrators and educators with behavior response
Collaborate with Office/Business Manager to ensure management of student lunch accounts which may include point of sale transactions, making bank deposits, and collecting past due balances
Liaise with vendor to ensure timely delivery of food to campus including managing orders and inventory
Develop relationships with and support scholars as an integral part of the school community
Administer first aid as needed
Help keep the cafeteria clean
Identify any major security or safety hazards and major repair needs in the cafeteria
Complete accident reports as needed
Manage computer logs

Perform other related duties as required and assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies:
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good problem-solving ability; good judgment
Ability to interact appropriately with children of different ages
Bilingual - Spanish & English
Computer Skills
Minimum educational level:
High School Diploma required
Experience required:
None; experience monitoring and observing K-12 students preferred
Physical requirements:
Stand, walk or bend over, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, grasp, push, and pull. Move, lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds to shoulder height
Repetitive use of hands (i.e. fine manipulation, simple grasping, and power grasping)
Demonstrate normal depth perception
Sitting, walking or standing for extended periods of time
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, operate standard office equipment, and use a telephone
See and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids
Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone with or without auditory aides
