We are seeking a skilled and proactive AWS Security Engineer to join our growing cloud infrastructure and security team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security solutions in our AWS environment. You will work closely with DevOps, IT, and development teams to ensure our cloud infrastructure is secure, compliant, and resilient against threats.

What You'll Do:

• Strengthen security for cloud and virtual environments
• Design and implement security controls and best practices for AWS environments.
• Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities in AWS.
• Manage IAM policies, roles, and permissions to enforce least privilege access.
• Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and penetration tests.
• Automate security processes using tools like AWS Config, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and Security Hub.
• Collaborate with DevOps to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
• Develop and maintain documentation for security policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
• Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and AWS security services.

What You've Done:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in cloud security, with a focus on AWS.
• Strong understanding of AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience with security tools such as AWS WAF, KMS, Inspector, and Macie.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools and log analysis.
• Knowledge of network security, encryption, and identity management.

Nice To Haves:

• AWS Certified Security – Specialty or other relevant AWS certifications.
• Experience with container security (ECS, EKS, Docker).
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices.

$130,000 - $160,000 a year

UltraViolet Cyber maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect our company's differing products, services, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors.
