Job Overview

The AVP - Data & Cloud Transformation will play a crucial role in leading our data engineering efforts, focusing on cloud migration and modernizing our data architecture. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, more than 8 years of experience in data engineering, and a deep understanding of transformation projects, cloud solutions, and architectural strategies. This position requires a candidate who is familiar with the latest technologies, capable of contributing to pre-sales activities, and is highly skilled in communication and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage data engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Drive transformation projects involving cloud migration to AWS and Azure environments.
• Architect and design modern data solutions utilizing Databricks, Snowflake, and SQL.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement high-quality data governance and management practices.
• Engage in pre-sales processes by articulating the technical aspects of solutions to prospective clients.
• Actively participate in leadership discussions and provide insights to influence strategic decisions.
• Conduct technical assessments and ensure that solutions meet best architectural practices.
• Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to data and cloud.

Essential Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Proficient in Databricks, Snowflake, Python, and SQL.
• Extensive experience with cloud migration strategies in AWS and Azure.
• Strong grounding in modern data architecture and solution architecting.
• Pre-sales experience is mandatory.
• A firm technical background, with the ability to collaborate with engineering teams effectively.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to stakeholders.

Desired Experience

• Candidate must have continuous job stability in prior roles.
• Strong preference for candidates based in the Bay Area, with a focus on Hybrid working models.
• No previous employment with Redwood or similar organizations.

Salary and Benefits

The position offers an annual salary ranging from £180,000 to £220,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits and compensation details will be provided during the interview process.

• 1 Technical Round
• 1 Architecture and Design Choices Round
• 2 Leadership Rounds
