What You Will Do
The electrical engineer will be working with a lead engineer and be responsible for:
- Apply basic electrical wiring design and best practices to data center power systems and solutions.
- Evaluate the trade-offs of various products and combine them together based on customer requirements - including solar converter, generators, energy storage, data center product, etc.
- Produce/evaluate drawings such as one-line diagrams for electrical installations based on data center customer specifications.
- Create test plans, perform system level evaluation and root cause analysis for any failures.
- Design low voltage PCBA boards to be used in data center control systems.
- Apply electrical engineering fundamentals to identify weaknesses, improve high-value load protection mechanisms, and enhance overall reliability.
- Design, evaluate, and validate solutions regarding safety, grounding, and fault management. (PE not required.)
- Support stakeholders from other engineering disciplines such as mechanical, software, and power systems engineering.
What You Bring
- Minimum BS in electrical engineering with medium and low voltage experience, knowledge of microgrids preferred, 7+ years experience
preferred. - Understanding of power electronics topologies, such as AC-DC, DC-DC
and DC-AC converters. Experience with multiport converters is a plus. - Experience with design, integration and evaluation of any
high power (>1 MW) system – solar inverters, motor drives, EV chargers, data center systems, and/or energy storage system products – is preferred. - Experience with UL/IEC regulations and compliance testing.
- Familiarity with NEC and design for high-power grounding schemes including arc-flash risk mitigation.
- Experience with electronics supply chains, sourcing and supplier management, preferred.
- Experience with schematic, layout, and BOM generation tools preferred.
Salary Range : $165,000-$188,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience, skills, and other factors.
