Overview of the internships
We have multiple Product Marketing and Design internship opportunities available. By applying to this posting, you will be considered for multiple internship opportunities within this general area. These internships will be located in the LA area . The selected interns will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager’s in office schedule.
The Vossi Design System team sits at the center of how great products come to life at CNN, shaping the systems, standards, and experiences that power storytelling across our global platforms. As a Design Systems Intern, you’ll contribute to real, production-ready work: supporting component development, documentation, research, and cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, and brand partners. Product Design, Design Systems Intern: LA
Your Role Accountabilities
Duties could include:
Contribute to the evolution of our Design System by designing, refining, and documenting UI components in Figma that support product teams across CNN platforms.
Partner with product designers and engineers to translate product requirements into scalable, reusable patterns that meet accessibility and usability standards.
Audit existing experiences to identify inconsistencies, usability gaps, and opportunities for system improvements, presenting findings and recommendations to the team.
Support usability research and testing efforts by synthesizing insights and helping translate findings into actionable design improvements.
Create and maintain clear documentation—including usage guidelines, interaction specs, and design rationale—to ensure teams can confidently implement system components.
Deliver a capstone project by the end of the internship (e.g., launching a new component, pattern library update, or system enhancement) that demonstrates measurable impact on product quality or team efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or a related field
Strong proficiency in Figma, including components, auto layout, and prototyping
Foundational understanding of user-centered design principles and accessibility best practices
Ability to clearly articulate design decisions and incorporate feedback in an iterative process
Strong attention to detail and commitment to craft
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
Must be a rising Junior or Senior undergrad or grad student (18 years or older)
Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.
Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program.
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with design systems principles, component libraries, or token-based design
Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and how designs translate to front-end implementation
Experience contributing to documentation, case studies, or structured design files
Exposure to usability testing, research synthesis, or data-informed design
Interest in media, entertainment, or streaming products
What To Know Before Applying:
The duration of the summer program regardless of which start/end option is 11 weeks.
Program date options:
Option 1: June 1st – August 14th
Option 2: June 8th – August 21st
Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity
Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
Interviewing will take place from mid February through early-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
On December 5, Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery announced they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Netflix will acquire Warner Bros., including its film and television studios, HBO Max and HBO. The transaction is expected to close after the separation of Warner Bros. Discovery's Global Networks division, Discovery Global, into a new publicly-traded company, which is expected to be completed in Q3 2026. Although you will be hired by Warner Bros. Discovery, upon the planned spin-off of Discovery Global in 2026, your employment likely will transition to Warner Bros. (or) transition to Discovery Global. During this period of transformation, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to lay the foundation at one of the world’s premier entertainment brands.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing compensation for roles in locations where legally required. Pay Rate: $19 per hour USD for undergrad interns, $25 per hour USD for graduate level interns.
