Job Description and Duties
Under general direction of the Program Quality Staff Services Manager II, the Senior Apprenticeship Consultant (PQR Senior Consultant) for the Program Quality and Review (PQR) Unit is a first level, working supervisor responsible for the proper adherence to and maintenance of current operations, oversight of the implementation of new initiatives/procedures affecting the work of the unit, and the supervision of the Apprenticeship Consultants (PQR Consultant) and Analysts II (PQR Analyst) within the unit.

Working Conditions
This position is located at: 1750 Howe Ave., Ste. 350; Sacramento, CA 95825.
The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting. Air conditioned, multiple floor building with elevator access, cubicle with natural and artificial lighting. Majority of time will be in the DAS Headquarters or other locations throughout California as needed, may be required to work out of home if provided with proper office equipment; Typical office tools include (but not limited to) computer, printer/copy/scan/fax machines, stapler, hole punch, filing; long periods of sitting/driving; typical office/vehicle noise and/or vibration; special hazards or dangers; may encounter inclement weather.Special Requirements
Statement of Qualifications
1. Please provide an example of a time when you proposed a new or improved process or procedure, that you created, developed, and implemented, that contributed to a significant improvement in programmatic efficiency.
Screening Criteria:
• Submit on a separate piece of 8 ½ x 11 paper.
• Titled “Statement of Qualifications”.
• Must provide detailed, concise, and complete information.
• Must by typewritten, using no smaller than an Arial 12-point font.
• Must limit to two pages.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Knowledge and experience with registered Apprenticeship programs.
- Proficient grammar, written, verbal and visual communication skills.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- The ability to get along and interact positively with coworkers and build a positive team environment.
- Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for employment relations work and the capacity for professional development.
- Understanding of the needs and problems of workers and minority persons.
- Willingness, as a learner, to do routine and detailed work. Impartiality, flexibility, emotional stability, tact and willingness to travel.

Preference will be given to persons with State Restriction of Appointments (SROA) or Surplus status. Applicants must attach a copy of their most recently dated letter that specifies their designation as either SROA or surplus candidate as proof.
Qualified candidates must have eligibility in State employment, be in a reachable rank on an employment list for this classification, be currently in this classification, or have transfer eligibility to this classification.
