Coupang AI+Data Platform team is a dynamic and innovative group whose mission is to deliver data platform services securely, reliably and efficiently to all the data stakeholders including the C-suite executives, ML engineers, Business Analysts and Data Engineers.

The AI and Data Platform team develops and manages services to ingest raw data structured and unstructured into the data lake, cleanse/transform the data, and make it available to MLEs, BA, and data engineers across all our Coupang. It is also responsible for the core data sets that serve the key businesses. Finally, the experimentation platform enables engineers within Coupang to rapidly do A/B testing to make product decisions. Responsibilities:

· Lead thought process and architectural design with good understanding of industry products and positioning to be able to influence right technology stack recommendations

· Evolve Coupang’s analytical data ecosystems to enable world-class data capabilities, through data and analytics platforms, Generative AI

· Drive various levels of technical decisions from systems, services, algorithms to operations and processes

· Work closely with multiple engineering teams on detailed designs and implementations to deliver end products

· Communicate effectively with client teams inside Coupang to collect requirements and drive adoption of new technologies

· Drive operational and engineering excellence into all facets of data engineering and software development.

Qualifications:

· BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience

· 8+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualification:

- Deep understanding of Data infrastructure and how enterprises use data.

· Data modeling skills and understanding of the eCommerce domain highly desirable.

· Knowledge of data query and data processing tools (i.e. SQL)

· Knowledgeable with Data Science tools and frameworks. Understand machine learning principles (training, validation, etc.)

· Knowledge of experimentation methodologies, such as A/B testing, multivariate testing, and statistical analysis

· Computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, performance complexity, and implications of computer architecture on software performance (e.g., I/O and memory tuning)

· Software engineering fundamentals: version control systems (i.e Git, Github) and workflows, and ability to write production-ready code

· Experience deploying highly scalable software supporting millions or more users

· Experience with integrating applications and platforms with cloud technologies (i.e AWS and GCP)

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Ability to conduct meetings and make professional presentations, and to explain complex concepts and technical material to non-technical users.

Pay & Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.

The base pay for this position ranges from $159,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $351,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
