Energy Data Engineer/Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW
TransGrid Energy is seeking an Energy Data Engineer/Analyst to source data and develop analytic tools and algorithms. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify areas of interest and deliver relevant business intelligence, including reconciling discrepancies.
This position is responsible for utilizing asset data to optimize internal process flows and identify areas of potential improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop tools and algorithms to streamline the calculation of metrics, invoice settlements, and other areas as needed as well as to identify areas of potential operations improvement. Determine causes of discrepancies between internal and counterparty calculated results.
Perform periodic data analytics such as trends to identify abnormalities in operations and performance of project equipment.
Analyze causes of downtime, lost production, and alarm occurrences to prioritize investigations and corrective actions.
Establish data streams for project operational data, market data, and others from various sources related to each project.
Perform ad-hoc analysis in collaboration with stakeholders on an as-needed basis.
Provide data-driven operational insights to leadership to support strategic initiatives.
Automate the updating of KPIs and other metrics pertaining to the condition of the projects and business.
Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to determine causes of abnormalities and validate the effectiveness of corrective actions.
Document and streamline analytic processes.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, data science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in data networks and analytics.
Experience with power market settlements and contractual performance metrics.
Proficient in database, analytics, and business intelligence tools such as SQL Servers, Power BI, Python, and Tableau.
Experience in power plant operations, renewable energy, and energy market activities is required.
Knowledge and experience with utility-scale battery and solar technologies.
WORK AUTHORIZATION
Candidates must have authorization to work in the US prior to joining TransGrid Energy LLC. This role does not sponsor or offer assistance with work authorization in the United States.
