Class A Driver / Mechanic / Shop Support

Leo Tidwell Excavating is a well-established company specializing in excavation and heavy equipment services. The team is seeking a reliable and adaptable Class A Driver / Mechanic / Shop Support professional to join on a full-time basis. This unique role offers a blend of driving, mechanical, and shop support duties, including transporting a racing boat and trailer to events both in and out of state, assisting with equipment maintenance, and supporting various shop projects. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, value variety in their day-to-day tasks, and are comfortable with travel as needed. Responsibilities

• Safely transport racing boat and trailer to and from events, both in and out of state
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance
• Assist with loading, unloading, and event setup as required
• Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on racing boats, excavation equipment, company trucks, trailers, and other vehicles
• Support shop operations, including fabrication, organization, and general maintenance tasks
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and work areas
• Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety requirements

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Ability to travel for work, including out-of-state trips as needed
• Mechanical experience preferred
• Experience with heavy equipment, diesel engines, trailers, or hydraulic systems is a plus
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred but not required
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
• Dependable, flexible, and team-oriented attitude

Compensation

Hourly pay between $28 and $35, depending on experience. Overtime opportunities available.
