Program Technician
Job Description and Duties
The Program Technician in the Imaging and Record Services Program, Records Section, is responsible for imaging documents and fingerprint cards received from courts and law enforcement agencies into the Automated Archive System (AAS) and processes folder requests from various programs within the Department via the Folder Control System. This is an entry and training level position. As trainees, under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform increasingly difficult duties of a semi-technical nature. When incumbents become proficient in their duties, they work under general supervision and guidelines.

Working Conditions
This position is designated for telework under Government Code section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California and may require reporting to headquarters or field offices and facilities to fulfill operational needs. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the Department of Justice policies.
This position is eligible for telework, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
Remote and hybrid schedules are subject to management approval. In addition, approved remote and hybrid schedules may be delayed for training purposes.Special Requirements

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
Inputs required information (index) from imaged documents to route into the appropriate queues within the JEDI system.
Sorts, reviews, and prepares documents for scanning.
Monitors and updates the Folder Control System, retrieves and replaces files, and submits inquiries into the Automated.
Criminal History System(ACHS) to ensure folder contents have been imaged.
Must be willing to pull and/or transport folders to various delivery/pickup points and scan/route documents to appropriate areas for proper handling.
Operates scanners to convert documents or fingerprint cards to electronic images.
Must be able to lift and move boxes weighing at least 20 pounds, carry an armload of folders not to exceed 10 inches in height, and push loaded folder carts weighing up to 225 pounds, performs other duties as assigned.
