Microbiology Laboratory Technician – Salinas, CA
Pay: $21–$22/hr
Training: Mon–Fri, 9am–6pm | Regular: Tue–Sat, 12pm–9pm
Description:
We are seeking a Microbiological Laboratory Technician to join our team-oriented food safety environment. This role involves sample processing, data entry, media preparation, and general lab support.
Responsibilities:
- Process incoming samples and record accurate data
- Perform QA checks and facility/field sampling (product & water)
- Operate lab equipment (scales, autoclaves)
- Clean glassware, lab areas, and tools
- Prepare media and perform pipetting/serial dilutions
- Retrieve samples from various locations
- Support additional tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- Lab experience or aseptic technique a plus
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Strong communication and math skills
- Clean DMV record and flexible schedule (weekends/overtime)
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic
- Bilingual (Spanish) and science background a plus
