AppZen is seeking a Principal Product Manager to drive the strategy and execution of transformative initiatives across our Autonomous Accounts Payable (AP) and Expense Automation (EA) solutions. This is a high-impact, cross-cutting role at the intersection of FinTech and AI, where you will shape the future of intelligent financial operations for global enterprises.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in AP/Expense processes, combined with a passion for AI-driven innovation that delivers measurable ROI. You will collaborate with customers, engineering, AI/ML, and go-to-market teams to design and scale world-class automation products that simplify workflows, mitigate risk, and provide actionable insights across the invoice-to-pay and spend management lifecycles.

AppZen Product Managers work with our world-class Engineering and AI teams to build our products, and work on enabling our Customer Success team to make our customers successful. They also enable our GTM teams to effectively market and sell our products.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the long-term product vision, strategy, and roadmap across AP and EA initiatives, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Leverage machine learning and generative AI to deliver innovative, differentiated solutions that transform how finance teams operate.
  • Keen eye for details and ability to work with designers to create consumer grade UX.
  • Partner with engineering, design, AI/ML, GTM, and customer success teams to build, launch, and scale automation products that customers love.
  • Craft a coherent product vision, strategy and roadmap; Ability to map out the customer journey to drive requirements.
  • Engage with enterprise customers to understand their workflows and pain points; translate insights into product requirements that improve efficiency, compliance, and ROI.
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes.
  • Ruthlessly prioritize initiatives, balance innovation with delivery, and ensure seamless execution of multi-team initiatives.
  • Execute. This means being constantly biased towards action, understanding the domain, knowing the data, being in the details, setting a high bar and building strong collaborative relationships with other teams, thinking boldly, disambiguating and rapidly iterating towards something awesome.

Requirements:

  • Must be a self-starter who truly enjoys working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Ideally have seen a product through hyper-growth.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • 7+ years of product management experience, with significant time in FinTech, ERP, AP/AR, or Expense Management domains.
  • Proven track record of shipping and scaling AI-enabled enterprise products.
  • Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to craft and execute on a coherent long-term product vision.
  • Exceptional customer empathy, with the ability to uncover insights and translate them into winning product strategies.
  • Nice to have Technical Background or Management Consulting experience.
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams.
  • BS degree or equivalent preferred.
