SUMMARY

Peace Over Violence (POV) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Housing Case Manager to support survivors of domestic, sexual violence in securing safe and permanent housing. The Housing Case Manager will provide comprehensive case management services, including housing stabilization, advocacy, and support services, while working directly with individuals and families impacted by domestic violence. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish (preferred), ensuring effective communication with Spanish-speaking survivors. The ideal candidate will have strong organization, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills; keen attention to detail; and possess excellent strong public speaking skills. Candidate must demonstrate in- depth knowledge of sexual assault and/or domestic violence, child abuse/neglect and intervention skills.

Client Intake and Assessment:

  • Conduct initial assessments to determine housing needs, safety concerns, and eligibility for housing assistance programs.

  • Create individualized housing plans tailored to the specific needs and goals of each survivor.

  • Develop and implement case plans that include housing support, financial assistance, legal advocacy, and referrals to community resources. Provide ongoing monitoring and follow-up to ensure clients’ needs are met.

Housing Advocacy:

  • Assist survivors in developing safety plans, setting goals, accessing necessary resources.

  • Provide crisis intervention and support to survivors in-person and via the crisis hotline.

  • Provide trauma informed, client centered support that respects survivor autonomy and decision making, while maintaining confidentiality.

  • Maintain strong relationship with local shelters, social service agencies, law enforcement and community organizations

Case Management/Crisis Intervention:

  • Respond to immediate housing crises and provide short-term support while working towards long-term housing stability.

  • Offer resources, referrals, and advocacy during emergencies.

  • Develop and implement case plans that include housing support, financial assistance, legal advocacy, and referrals to community resources.

  • Provide ongoing monitoring and follow-up to ensure clients’ needs are met.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with grant and program reporting requirements.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with agency policies andfunding requirements.

  • Enter data into CIFD data software

  • Document all case notes, housing assistance provided, emergency funds tracking, and client progress in a timely manner

  • Assist with funder reporting requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated knowledge of crisis intervention, domestic violence, sexual abuse, child abuse/neglect, stalking.

  • Experience working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault or trauma affected populations.

  • Completed or intend to complete Peace Over Violence’s 82-hour Crisis Intervention, Sexual Assault& Domestic Violence training.

  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with criminal justice and social service agencies members.

  • Ability to work with clients, volunteers and staff in a non-judgmental manner.

  • Ability to relate in a empathetic, supportive, non-judgmental manner to victims and their families.

  • Demonstrate initiative and professionalism; ability to work independently & maintain workload

  • Strong & effective oral & written communication skills; public speaking, facilitating group discussions.

  • Ability to work well with a diverse group of people; comfortable with L.A. & Pasadena communities.

  • Capacity to balance and provide self-care while meeting the demands of a crisis center.

  • Flexible Schedule to fit varying shifts; capacity to work some weekends.

  • Must have reliable transportation.

  • Some evening and weekend hours may be required based on client needs.

  • Must pass background checks.

  • Bilingual Spanish preferred – Must be fluent in both English and Spanish, with the ability tocommunicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients.
