Product Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a Product Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Union City, CA, within the electronics manufacturing industry. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering professional who enjoys working close to the production floor, improving manufacturing processes, supporting product builds, and helping teams deliver high-quality results. The Product Engineer will support Pilot and Mass Production activities, create and maintain production documentation, assist with engineering changes, troubleshoot production test issues, and help develop test automation tools and fixtures. Key Responsibilities - Write, maintain, and update SOPs, work instructions, production instructions, and Quality Control checklists for Pilot and Mass Production environments.- Analyze production test logs, test results, procedures, and manufacturing processes to improve quality, yield, efficiency, productivity, and cost performance.
- Manage and support engineering changes, including ECNs and ECOs, while coordinating production needs, training requirements, labor standards, and documentation updates.
- Build, modify, and maintain test automation tools, scripts, and fixtures used in production testing and troubleshooting.
- Support Proof of Concept product builds, new product configurations, customer-specific requirements, manufacturability validation, and production readiness reviews.
- Train production teams and cross-functional departments on new processes, tools, SOPs, engineering changes, and POC lessons learned. Compensation and Benefits - Salary range: $90,000 to $110,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Create and maintain production documentation, SOPs, work instructions, and QC checklists.- Support Pilot and Mass Production execution, engineering changes, and production readiness activities.
- Analyze production test data and manufacturing processes to identify improvement opportunities.
- Build or support test automation tools, scripts, fixtures, and troubleshooting activities. - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Electronic, or Computing Engineering.
- Experience as a Production Engineer, Product Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or related engineering role in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of computer hardware specifications, system-level components, production methods, manufacturing processes, and standard operating procedures.
- Required knowledge of Linux-based platforms and working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Ability to manage engineering changes while balancing production schedules, training needs, and labor standards.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across Manufacturing, Quality, Test, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Engineering teams.
- Ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and perform accurately in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail in documentation, testing, process execution, and production support.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong self-learning capability and willingness to acquire new technical knowledge and manufacturing skills. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with test automation, scripting, and production testing.
- Knowledge of MES systems.
- Experience with repair processes, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution.
- Hands-on experience supporting electronics, computer hardware, components, or semiconductor manufacturing environments.
