Vacaville Animal Care Center is seeking a veterinarian to join our team. We are hiring a Medical Director. .
The Opportunity
This role is intentionally flexible. We recognize that not every great leader is ready—or wants—to step fully into a Medical Director role on day one.

An experienced veterinarian interested in stepping into a Medical Director role or a clinician with leadership interest who wants to grow into an MDVM role over time, with training and support
A current Managing DVM/Medical Director seeking better support and more work-life balance

Associate DVM Focus
Practice high-quality small animal medicine in a collaborative environment
Build lasting client relationships
Work alongside an experienced, supportive team
Maintain flexibility and work-life balance
Access mentorship, CE, and professional development
Medical Director Focus (If Applicable)
Provide clinical leadership and medical direction for the hospital
Lead & support associate veterinarians
Partner with hospital and regional leadership on operations and growth
Help shape medical protocols, standards of care, and team development
Maintain a meaningful clinical caseload alongside leadership responsibilities
Previous leadership experience is valued but not required—NVA provides training and ongoing support.

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary $150,000-$180,000 (adjusted based on experience)
Production ranging between 22-23% and/or leadership incentive opportunities

Qualifications
DVM or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
Licensed or eligible for licensure in California
Passion for high-quality medicine and teamwork
