A well-established California law firm is seeking a Paralegal/Legal Assistant to provide substantive legal support to attorneys across state and federal matters. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong litigation support experience who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven legal environment. The Paralegal/Legal Assistant will assist in case preparation, document drafting, filing coordination, and overall litigation and administrative support to attorneys and clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Litigation & Legal Support: Support attorneys through all phases of litigation and administrative proceedings Draft, revise, and format legal documents, correspondence, memoranda, and emails Assemble and organize documents and exhibits for hearings, filings, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations Assist with drafting basic pleadings and declarations Support filing processes with courts and agencies such as OAH, PERB, EEOC, and others Case & Document Management: Maintain and organize client and case files, including sensitive records Manage document production and review case materials for accuracy and completeness Proofread legal documents to ensure compliance with firm standards Use document management systems (e.g., iManage) and e-discovery tools Administrative & Calendar Management: Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and master scheduling systems Schedule meetings, appointments, and maintain case timelines Read, sort, and distribute incoming mail and emails appropriately Arrange attorney travel including accommodations and transportation Client & Team Support: Serve as liaison with clients, agencies, and internal teams Assist with preparation of marketing materials, attorney bios, and presentations Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure efficient case handling Additional Responsibilities: Support general administrative and legal office needs as assigned Ensure strict confidentiality and adherence to firm policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred Must meet California Business & Professions Code § 6450 requirements 3–5 years of recent paralegal or litigation legal assistant experience Prior litigation legal secretary experience preferred Familiarity with e-discovery and case management platforms Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience with document management systems (e.g., iManage) preferred Typing speed of at least 70 WPM Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong attention to detail and reliability
