BIM Lead Mechanical & Plumbing BIM Lead

Position Overview
The Mechanical & Plumbing BIM Lead will be responsible for overseeing the development and coordination of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes for mechanical and plumbing systems. This role focuses on ensuring that all MEP models are accurate, efficient, and compliant with project specifications and industry standards. The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers and drafters, promoting best practices in BIM modeling and collaboration across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of mechanical and plumbing BIM models using Revit and other software tools.
• Coordinate with architectural and structural teams to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems within the overall building design.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) on BIM models to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and BIM modelers on best practices in MEP modeling.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables related to BIM modeling and coordination efforts.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify and resolve conflicts in MEP systems.
• Utilize laser scanning technology to capture existing conditions and incorporate them into the BIM models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in mechanical and plumbing BIM modeling, particularly using Revit.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and their integration within architectural designs.
• Experience with VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) processes is a plus.
• Familiarity with QAQC procedures in BIM environments.
• Experience in using laser scanning technology for as-built modeling is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team.
